What is School-Based Agricultural Education?

School-Based Agricultural Education (SBAE) is an educational program delivered through career and technical education in every state and five territories of the United States.

It consists of three core components:

1. Contextual, inquiry-based instruction and learning through interactive classrooms and laboratories

2. Premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through FFA; and

3. Experiential, service, and/or work-based learning through a supervised agricultural experience.

Integrating all three of these components helps to ensure students' success or continuation through higher education. â€‹
